Security Experts to Gather for the 8th MEESEC

Scheduled on 4 – 6 December, the 8th Middle East Energy Security Forum in Dubai

5th December 2012, Dubai – The first day of the mega three-day conference at Dubai was marked with two workshops led by Bechtel and Global Maritime Security Solutions LLC on energy essentials for security practitioners & implement and manage strategic security management systems.

Day two starting today will focus on effective measures to mitigate security threats and evaluate new security technologies in the Middle East region. Representatives from sectors like oil and gas, construction, transportation and aviation, architectural & design, logistics, hospitality and healthcare are here to engage, share and interact on security strategies and implementation.

Michael Ruhle, Head of Energy Security – Emergency Security Department at the NATO HQ, addressed the audience on NATO and the various challenges in the sector of energy security. NATO was also part of the panel discussion on critical infrastructure protection other than Petronas, Baker Hughes and the Ministry of Interior Kuwait.

The day culminated with a networking reception attended by speakers, sponsors, and delegates.

Day three will commence on 6 December 2012 where representatives from AMEC, Saudi Aramco, Petropars, Emirates National Oil Company Limited will discuss niche topics in the domain- agile crisis management in oil and gas projects, security as a component of corporate social responsibility and ways to incorporate a successful security transformation & assessment plan.

Lachlan Simpkins, Chairperson of the summit from Bechtel, will deliver his session, emphasizing on preparing the ideal model for industry and government to share threat information to address security incidents. His presentation will include an overview on establishing a trusted information network, developing meaningful leading and lagging indicators for commercial use and implementation of an integrated emergency response framework.

The 8th Middle East Energy Security Forum will culminate on Thursday, making an effort to create awareness about potential threats to your company’s assets and planning methods to increase ROI.
