Safer Internet Day (SID) is an annual, worldwide event to be held on Tuesday 6 February 2018.
Celebrated in 130 countries, SID is a great opportunity to engage the community in understanding
how to make the online world safe for all users.
In 2018, the SID theme ‘Create, connect and share respect: A better internet starts with you’
encourages us all to use technology safely. For us, that means focusing on respect, with activities
and promotion tailored to the theme.
The Office of the eSafety Commissioner is the official Committee for Safer Internet Day in
Australia—responsible for driving the initiative nationally. We encourage you to get involved and
use this as an opportunity to reach out to staff and the community with messages that help
promote safe and respectful online interactions.
