SYDNEY, Australia. – Feb. 01, 2013 – McAfee today announced the appointment of Andrew Littleproud as President for Asia Pacific. Littleproud was previously McAfee’s Vice President & Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand and will now be responsible for all business operations across North Asia, South East Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand.
“My focus for 2013 will be to extend McAfee’s position as a market leading information security solution provider across Asia Pacific,” said Littleproud. “At McAfee, we understand our customers and the security challenges they face. We deliver efficient and effective solutions to support changing business needs – that’s what makes us a leader, so we will continue this strong customer focus in 2013.”
Littleproud’s priority will be to continue to drive McAfee’s growth in Asia Pacific by solving customer security challenges using McAfee’s unique Security Connected framework, which enables integration of multiple products and services for effective risk mitigation. This approach will be supported by improved engagement with McAfee’s extensive partner network, increasing efforts to help the region’s small, medium, corporate and government businesses secure their vulnerable environments.
Littleproud will also oversee major employee engagement activities within the organisation and a continued focus on Corporate Social Responsibility. “An initiative I am particularly passionate about is the McAfee CyberEducation program, which will see thousands of Australian school children educated about cyber safety in 2013 through McAfee’s partnership with Life Education. It was a very proud moment to be able to launch the program alongside Australia’s Prime Minister Julia Gillard recently and see McAfee’s security expertise and cyber awareness benefit Australia’s youngest generation.”
Littleproud replaces Steve Redman, who was recently appointed to the role of Executive Vice President of Global Sales. Steve recently relocated from Sydney to McAfee’s Santa Clara headquarters to lead the global sales team. “Andrew has been integral to the growth of McAfee’s corporate and consumer business in Australia and New Zealand, delivering double digit growth in each of his four years in the role. Andrew also spearheaded McAfee’s 11th place ranking in BRW’s 2012 Australian Best Place to Work awards,” said Redman.
Prior to joining McAfee, Littleproud was Regional Director of the EMC Software Group where he grew the business four fold over a period of four years. He also held senior sales and leadership roles at Xerox Corporation and Oracle Corporation, where he consistently achieved top sales honours in both the UK and in Australia.
Littleproud holds a bachelor’s degree with honours in Information Technology from the Hallam University in Sheffield, UK.
