Features software Copy Security to ward off document leaks
Singapore, 25th September 2012 – Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia Pte Ltd. is proud to be one of the participating organizations for GovernmentWare Conference & Exhibition (GovWare) 2012. The company will be occupying Booth 31 and 33 at the three-day event, held at Resorts World Convention Centre at Sentosa, Singapore.
In line with this year’s theme “Proactive Strategy Against Advanced Persistent Threat (APT)”, Konica Minolta addresses the concern of information leaks during printing and copying, and emphasizes on personal responsibility to prevent such data leaks.
Along with the MFPs (Multifunctional Printer) exhibited, Konica Minolta-developed software Copy Security, which gives users power over unauthorized printing, takes the centre stage at GovWare.

However, information leaks often occur through unauthorized output of confidential documents,” said Mr. Ryo Maruhashi, Managing Director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia. “With Copy Security, which is an optional software for some of our MFPs, we put effective control in the hands of our customers, allowing them to proactively prevent important documents from being re-printed or copied, thereby minimizing the chance of leaks through printouts.”
Copy Security has dual features known as Copy Guard and Password Copy that ensure secured printing in two steps. First, Copy Guard prevents unapproved copies from being printed on MFPs by adding an embedded copy protection code and faint security pattern on copies or prints to block unauthorised secondary duplication.
The second feature, Password Copy, is a user-authentication system that allows this protection to be cancelled by entering a password before attempting to re-copy the document. Additionally, the Annotation Function includes identifiable document creation information, which facilitates document control and helps prevent misuse.
Konica Minolta’s flagship model, bizhub C654 Colour MFP is one of the company’s MFPs that gives customers the option to install the Copy Security software.
Aside from being an all-in-one system that prints, copies, faxes and scans, and the first MFP to feature Konica Minolta INFO-Palette design, a 9” touch screen interface providing users with the “flick & drag” operation, C654 features advance security options that enhance document confidentiality. Unwarranted re-printing and copying is thus prevented with dual features of Copy Guard and Password Copy.
