indodefence-banner-300x250-1Defence IQ, a Division of IQPC Asia, in conjunction with PT Napindo, is pleased to announce the official endorsement and support of the Indonesian Ministry of Defence for the upcoming Indo Defence 2016 Tri Services Forum on 3 November in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In an official letter signed by Dr. Timbul Siahaan, Director General of Defence Potential at the Ministry of Defence, the Director General welcomed IQPC Asia’s proposal to host the forum in Indonesia, and noted that the conference would ‘offer the ideal platform for international and regional Armies, Navies and Air Force Chiefs, as well as senior government officials and defence industry, to engage in constructive discussions surrounding maritime security and power projection in the region’.

The one-day Forum, as part of the larger Indo Defence Expo, will also feature opening keynotes from Indonesia’s Ministers, Indonesian Tri-Service Chiefs and the US Navy.

‘We felt it was a great opportunity for IQPC to collaborate with the Indonesian Ministry of Defence and use this year’s Forum as a regional platform for international and Indonesia’s tri-services to come together and engage in constructive dialogue to overcome challenges in the changing maritime security environment in the Asia-Pacific region’, adds Joshua Lim, Managing Director for Defence and Government Portfolio at IQPC. ‘Furthermore, with our track record of having worked with regional governments including Malaysia and Philippines, we are confident that we will deliver a quality-driven event with your partners’, Lim commented.

Alongside senior representation and participation from the Indonesian Armed Forces, the Forum will also feature over 150 senior military officers from over 40 countries via the official VIP country delegation groups attending. Early confirmed participants include Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, France, Sweden and more. The key focus of this year’s Forum would be that of achieving comprehensive maritime surveillance and security through technology innovation and partnerships.

Set alongside the bi-annual government endorsed Indo Defence Expo running from 2-5 November, the Forum comes at a key timing where tensions have been increasing in the South China Sea.
