The BSIA will be hosting several industry focused launches on its stand (IF2850) during IFSEC International which returns to the live arena in May.
The Association will be showcasing these initiatives covering areas from both the electronic and security personnel sectors that will benefit its members and the wider industry, and everyone is invited to meet with the specialists involved.
Starting on Tuesday 17 May, 12pm Skills for Security, alongside the Security Industry Authority (SIA) will launch the Skills Board. The board has been set up with an aim to focus on future skills and careers, leading to a more professionalized private security industry and one that can attract and retain the talent it needs to prosper into the future.
At 12.30pm, in conjunction with its Security Officer Services (SOS) section members, the BSIA will launch a major campaign devoted to raising the profile of those operating in the sector and on the frontline in the key areas of People, Places and Property. The campaign is designed to increase the awareness of the breadth and diversity of the work undertaken by those operating in the SOS sector and enhance the perception of this vital work carried out by professional security officers.
At 3.00pm on the same day, Director of Security & Export, John MacAskill MSyl will be hosting an Export Council networking session which includes a presentation by UK Defence & Security Exports (UKDSE).
On Wednesday 18 May at 12.15pm, the BSIA will launch of FASQUAL, a major new contractor registration scheme for fire and security contractors created by the BSIA and the Fire Industry Association (FIA), followed at 1.15pm by a latest major camera research report, The Bigger Picture, which is a follow up to the widely acclaimed 2013 report, The Picture is Not Clear will be launched. This UK video market research report includes a detailed analysis of the types of cameras used and for what purpose, cloud storage trends and a comprehensive study of end user applications and future trends across 11 sectors including retail, transportation and CNI. A selection of key headline statistics will be shared during this session.
At 3.00pm UKDSE will be presenting on the topic of what the UK Government can do to assist export in the post Brexit landscape.
On the last day of the show, Thursday 19 May 11am, the BSIA will be announcing the launch of its Cybersecurity Product Assurance Group’s (CySPAG), cybersecurity self-declaration and registration scheme for manufacturers, based on the BSIA’s cybersecurity Code of Practice.
In addition, the BSIA technical team will be on hand offering triage sessions, covering major subjects such as standards and regulation for facial recognition, cybersecurity certification for installers and the change to an ALL-IP telecommunications infrastructure across the UK. These can be booked at any time on the stand during the event.
