The Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) and Technology Industry Association (TIA) are to merge, as of 1 July 2016.
The DTC welcomes members of the TIA and looks forward to a strong association of all members.
“We are united by existing synergies and a common business culture. This merger will provide significant benefits and opportunities for TIA members, and further enhance defence industry’s capabilities and performance. The defence industry in this state is dynamic, highly advanced and is gearing up to take on a number of large projects such as the Offshore Patrol Vessels, Land 400, Future Frigates and Future Submarines. But there is also work in areas such as Aerospace, Cyber Security and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance. Defence is not just about building submarines or tanks, it engages a supply chain that includes manufacturing, logistics, electronics, training, research and development etc” DTC CEO Chris Burns said.
TIA President Nigel Hall said “TIA members are leaders in the areas of manufacturing, electronics, and ICT and are well placed to be at the forefront of supplying cutting edge technology to the defence industry. Clean Technology, which is placed alongside manufacturing in terms of revenue and employee numbers, offers a new dimension to DTC members’ existing capabilities. We are excited by the opportunities ahead”.
It will be business as usual for DTC and TIA members as both organisations work together to ensure a seamless transition.
