2013: ADT Security
Australia has announced the launch of OmniMirror, an innovative in-store
display technology that helps retailers maximise cross-channel marketing
opportunities.
Bridging the gap
between bricks and mortar retailers and online shopping, OmniMirror is an
interactive display system that aims to enhance the customers’ in-store
experience. Particularly ideal for fashion retailers and brands which
target youth audiences, OmniMirror features a digital mirror and interactive
touch screen. Customers can use OmniMirror to take photos of themselves and
share images instantly via their favourite social networks such as Facebook and
Twitter.
Sharing photos of
their ‘new look’ enables the customer to receive immediate feedback from
friends while still in the store. While adding some fun to the shopping
experience, all photos taken and shared using OmniMirror feature the retailer’s
branding, effectively marketing the brand through customers’ social networks as
photos travel through the online environment. This can help increase
traffic to the retailer’s website, improve brand awareness and encourage
interaction with the brand across social media platforms.
Michael Day, regional
retail sales manager, ADT Security said: “Consumers enjoy shopping online and
thousands of Australians engage with brands through social media platforms
every day. The challenge for retailers is how to connect their bricks and
mortar stores with online assets that deliver marketing messages and drive
sales.
“OmniMirror
seamlessly connects the customer’s in-store experience with the business’s
overall digital marketing strategy. Among its advantages, the system enables
retailers to leverage social media to powerfully promote their products and
brand.”
OmniMirror can also
help influence in-store purchasing decisions and encourage loyalty program
uptake with on-screen promotions and videos. In addition, customers can use the
system to shop online. With access to the store’s entire catalogue, shoppers
can order items that may be out of stock or browse colour ranges that may not
be available in that particular store. This can help increase sales among
visitors who may otherwise have left the store without making a purchase.
OmniMirror was developed
by Australian entrepreneur and Five Faces founder Yazz Krishna who has
partnered with ADT Security to introduce the system to local retailers. He says
technology will play an increasingly vital role in helping retailers improve
the in-store experience they offer customers and increase brand engagement
online.
“In-store
technologies are becoming more and more critical for retailers who want to stay
ahead of the pack. A recent international retail survey found that ‘maintaining
and improving the customer experience’ was a primary reason for use of in-store
technology*,” said Krishna.
“At a time when more
Australians are researching products, making purchases and engaging with brands
online, OmniMirror injects some fun into the consumer’s shopping experience and
connects these consumers with the retailer’s online, e-commerce and social
media platforms.”
OmniMirror can be
customised to meet the unique business and branding requirements of each
retailer. It seamlessly integrates into the business’ existing systems
and is fully future-proofed so that retailers can take advantage of the latest
updates and enhancements that become available.
ADT Security provides
24/7 off-site monitoring and support for all OmniMirror customers, ensuring
retailers and their staff do not need to be trained in technical set-up or
maintenance issues. The support team will also update the display
advertising and content for each new branding campaign or promotion launched.
OmniMirror joins ADT
Security’s expanding suite of retail solutions, which also include the Duonell
Interactive Display Unit and ADT Store Performance Analytics.
