The Australian Crime Commission (ACC) CEO, John Lawler, today welcomed the appointment of one full-time and four part-time ACC examiners.
On 22 November 2012, the Governor-General reappointed Mr Tim Sage for a term of two years as a full-time examiner and appointed the Hon John Hannaford, Ms Ann Graham, the Hon John Hatzistergos and Mr Michael Strong as part-time examiners for a period of five years.
Together with their examiner colleagues, Mr Jeffrey Anderson, Mr Tim Carmody and Mr Michael Griffin AM, these appointments will significantly bolster the ACC’s ability to conduct coercive examinations. The appointment of these examiners will bring the total number of examiners to eight—one full-time and seven part-time.
Mr Lawler said that the commencement of the new examiners will enhance the ACC’s national response to serious and organised criminal threats of most harm to the Australian community.
