The security procurement toolkit was launched publically in September 2011, designed to help all those involved in buying and selling security products and services. The toolkit is based on original research including over 50 in depth interviews with procurers and security personnel.

Those who are new to security and those who are experts will find the toolkit an invaluable resource. Each section is self contained, full of tips and advice, and it is user-friendly. It is comprehensive too, incorporating key principles alongside good practice advice for each of the buying stages. Leader of the Perpetuity team, responsible for developing the toolkit, Professor Martin Gill stated:

“Our own research revealed that both buyers and sellers of security encountered problems with the procurement process. This project was developed to understand the key pinch points and produce guidance based on the experience of those involved as well as drawing upon good practice from around the world.”

The Toolkit has emerged from the Security Research Initiative supported by the BSIA, ASIS and the  and currently backed by leading companies. For more information on the SRI visit http://www.perpetuityresearch.com/
