Mr Dean Rosenfield has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Saab Systems Pty Ltd, which is the lead Australian operation for the global Saab defence and security company.
Dean Rosenfield has been with Saab since 2001; most recently in the role of General Manager Civil Security where he has grown the business considerably with large contracts in Queensland and New Zealand.
Dean is a graduate of the Royal Military College, Duntroon and served 15 years in the Australian Army before moving to industry in 1999 as a management consultant to the Defence Acquisition Organisation.
Since joining Saab, he has held senior roles in systems engineering, project management and as a sales director on the defence side of the business. In 2007 he started Saab Security Pty Ltd which has already completed many contracts in corrections and immigration security and is now entering the air traffic management domain.
“A great deal of Saab’s success can be attributed to Saab’s cooperative work approach and listening to customers in both the defence and security domains. I aim to build on that to make Saab’s growth even greater,” said Dean Rosenfield.
As well as heading the operational companies, Saab Systems and Saab Security, Dean is also the senior Saab representative in Australia with responsibility for relations with customers and Government.
“Saab’s Australian operations are very important to the company’s global development so we have appointed Dean Rosenfield as the new manager with the right ambition, drive and commercial instincts,” said Gunilla Fransson, Head of Security and Defence Solutions within the Saab Group and former Chairman of the Board of Saab in Australia.
Dean is 45 years old, holds a Master’s degree in Management from the University of NSW and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He lives with his family in Adelaide and loves his Rugby Union.
Saab’s previous Managing Director in Australia, Richard Price, has been promoted to manage the Security Management and Secure Communications business in Sweden.
