London UK, October 15, 2012: ADANI the specialist screening developer has been chosen to supply the first phase of body and baggage screening systems for Kazakhstan prisons.
Following a competitive tendering process in the late summer of 2012 ADANI working together with their Kazakhstan partner Metrocom Systems have been awarded a contract to supply 35 screening systems to 17 individual prisons across Kazakhstan before the end of 2012.
Vladimir Linev, General Director of ADANI said “We have worked hard with the technical and commercial team at Metrocom Systems to develop an offer that we are proud has been accepted by the Kazakhstan prison service as not only meeting their technical requirements but can also be delivered and installed in a very short timescale.” The contract was awarded in late September and all systems must be installed by end of November. “ADANI, using its flexible manufacturing structures and working with the team at Metrocom, were able to meet this requirement through close co-operation and planning.”
Igar Gubarevich, ADANI Director for International Business who managed the bid from ADANI said “I am very proud that ADANI and Metrocom Systems have been awarded this contract. The teams from the two companies worked very closely together to make sure that we had the complete solution ready for the customer. We had never faced such a short delivery and installation period for such large tender but through team work and effective project management, we were able to manage our supply chain, manufacturing and logistics teams to be ready for a quick and professional response. Metrocom Systems are now ready for the first delivery and over the next two months we are confident that they will do a great job installing the Conpass Full Body Screening Systems and BV100100 Baggage Scanning Systems in the 17 prisons.”
2012 was a very successful year for the ADANI Conpass and based on current forecasts the total number of installations world-wide will increase by over 50% this year alone
Simon Lyster, Managing Director, Adani Limited said ”The demand for more complete personnel screening systems is increasing in a number of key markets as a result of a mixture of events and the realization by the enforcement agencies that the technology exists to safely screen for a wide range of banned and dangerous items. The ADANI Conpass has shown that its robust design, together with the ability to deliver a low dose solution, has proved popular with an increasing range of international customers. At ADANI, we have always been proud of the fact that we offer a flexible approach to meeting the customer’s needs. This has proven very successful in 2012 and by the end of the year, we are planning to further expand this with a wide range of flexible personnel screening solutions.”
