The Security Executive Council (SEC) and the Energy Security Council (ESC) have formed an alliance.
The alliance provides an opportunity for ESC members to contribute to the SEC body of knowledge specific to energy sector best practices. ESC members will have the opportunity to participate in and enhance the SEC’s sector-specific research initiatives.
The SEC has previously partnered with member organizations in the healthcare and financial industries to conduct security program research and define sector-specific success factors. Security research at the sector level is widely lacking; the SEC hopes to continue to partner with more sector organizations to bridge the gap.
Dave Leiting, Executive Director, ESC, and former Director of Security at BP; Bob Hayes, Managing Director, SEC, former CSO at Georgia Pacific; and Tom Bello, SEC Faculty, former Regional Security Manager for the Americas at Exxon Mobil Corporation, will shepherd the partnership.
“I can’t think of a better way for ESC to celebrate its 40th year than to form its first strategic alliance with the SEC, the global leader in security leadership success. This will be a valuable benefit for all ESC member companies and for energy sector security,” said Dave Leiting.
Tom Bello said, “The new partnership will promote the sharing of leadership and security expertise with the energy sector via the extensive network and research of the Security Executive Council. As a former Board member of the Energy Security Council, I am excited about being engaged in this effort.”
Bob Hayes said, “We’re excited to contribute our research and knowledge to the leading energy security membership organization, as successful leaders and programs are so important for critical infrastructure and the vital role it plays for every nation.”
