GitHub has announced that Sharryn Napier has joined the company as Vice President (VP) of Sales for APAC.
In addition to providing the overall strategic direction for GitHub across APAC, Sharryn will be responsible for driving business growth and capturing the region’s enormous opportunity by embracing direct and indirect channels to market.
Sharryn has over 22 years of experience in the IT industry and has held executive positions at several global software companies, including New Relic, Qlik and Serena Software, where she was responsible for driving go-to-market strategy, including channel, consistently resulting in exponential growth across the region.
Sharryn is currently based in Sydney, is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and sits on the National Board of the AIIA.
“After a short break enjoying the beautiful Fijian sun and some island downtime, I am really thrilled to be joining such an inspiring global leadership team and to start working with a very talented and successful APAC team as we prepare to embrace the huge opportunity of expansion and growth ahead of us in APAC.” said Sharryn.
“A number of years ago I made a deliberate choice to narrow my focus to Australia and New Zealand, to spend time being more ‘local’ and at home closer to my young son. He’s now very much a man and I am returning to lead the APAC region, a passion which has been burning deeply within me ever since.”
“With every new chapter we open, one closes behind us. Reflecting on my journey over the last two-ish years, I’ve truly been blessed with an opportunity to build and lead a wonderfully talented and super smart New Relic team and leadership. Together we changed our world and that of our customers through a genuine obsession for their success. Team New Relic ANZ, it was an honor and a blast, so thank you so very much!”
“Looking to the future with GitHub, my ethos remains the same and I just can’t wait to get started on this incredible journey beyond the stars!” said Sharryn.
