Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) 2017 is taking its second edition to greater heights through the nexus of dialogues, strategic partnerships and innovations. Organised by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), SICW 2017 will provide an integrated platform for over 6,000 international and regional policy makers, thought leaders, industry experts and visitors to forge partnerships, engage in critical dialogues and knowledge-sharing for a secure and resilient cyberspace.
The theme for SICW 2017 is “Building A Secure and Resilient Digital Future Through Partnership” to echo Singapore’s focus on strengthening the nation’s digital future through building robust local and international partnerships. Events under the SICW umbrella include the ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cybersecurity (AMCC), GovernmentWare (GovWare 2017) exhibition and conference, the International Cyber Leaders’ Symposium (ICLS) and ASEAN Cybercrime Prosecutors’ Roundtable Meeting (ACPRM).
SICW 2017 will be launched by Guest-of-Honour, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security Mr Teo Chee Hean.
Chairing the AMCC will be Singapore’s Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Cyber Security, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim. The Ministerial Conference brings together ASEAN Ministers and Senior Officials from all 10 ASEAN Member States for discussions to enhance cybersecurity cooperation and strengthen regional cybersecurity capacity building efforts. ASEAN Secretary-General H.E Lê Lương Minh will also be participating in the discussions.
In addition, SICW 2017 will showcase the 26th edition of GovernmentWare (GovWare 2017), the region’s leading conference and exhibition on cybersecurity. This year, over 250 participating companies and sponsors including Palo Alto Networks, Carbon Black Inc, Imperva Inc, NEC and BAE Systems will be showcasing their latest innovative solutions. There will also be country pavilions including France, Holland, Malaysia and United Kingdom pavilions as well as the Singapore Pavilion featuring Small-Medium Enterprises such as Data Terminator Pte Ltd, Netrust Pte Ltd, SecureAge Technology Pte Ltd, SuperInternet (S) Pte Ltd and many more.
To nurture the aspirations of the next generation of industry professionals, there will be a dedicated Pavilion for Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) to showcase their cybersecurity-related research and projects.
A first for SICW this year will be the signing of the three-year strategic partnership with Temasek Foundation Connects (TF Connects). CSA and TF Connects will kick-off the partnership with the sponsorship of the CXO Forum, SICW Cybersecurity Lecture and the launch of the Temasek Foundation Connects Pavilion.
Mr David Koh, Chief Executive of CSA, said: “For governments and organisations to be able to take full advantage of the opportunities of the digital economy, cybersecurity is an essential ingredient. We hope that SICW will serve as a valuable platform for the best cyber minds – internationally and regionally – to meet, build strong networks and friendships, engage in critical discourse and access leading-edge technologies, with the aim of building a secure cyberspace for all.”
SICW 2017, co-hosted with the Ministry of Communications and Information, Ministry of Home Affairs and Attorney-General’s Chambers, will be held at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre from 18 to 21 September 2017.

Partners’ Quotes
“Temasek Foundation Connects hopes to contribute to CSA’s work to develop and strengthen Singapore’s digital resilience and cybersecurity. A critical part of building a smart nation is to have a strong cybersecurity capability, with responsive infrastructure to detect and neutralise cyber threats. The increasing convergence of smart technologies also means new vulnerabilities are being introduced that can potentially cause disruptions in our daily lives. Singapore needs to build up local deep expertise and cybersecurity professionals who can step up and provide next-generation cyber prevention and protection. TF Connects is therefore happy to be a strategic partner with CSA to foster collaborative relationships, showcase cutting-edge ideas and solutions and bring them to bear on some of the toughest and most mission-critical challenges of our enterprises.”
- Mr Lim Hock Chuan, Chief Executive of TF Connects
“We are honoured to have supported GovWare as a cornerstone sponsor for the past five years, and been a part of Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) for the second consecutive year. Cybersecurity is everyone’s business and no single entity – government or cybersecurity vendor – can stand against cybercrime alone. As technologies and cybersecurity challenges evolve in complexity, we need to look beyond the traditional detect-and-respond approach and adopt a prevention-focused stance. SICW presents an excellent opportunity for the region’s public and private sector experts to convene, to have meaningful conversations, and to try to address the most pressing cybersecurity challenges even before they hit us.”
- Mr Sean Duca, Vice President & Regional Chief Security Officer, Asia Pacific, Palo Alto Networks
